In regard to Pampady Thirumeni’s birth anniversary in 1985, due to the full hearted efforts of his devotees and the help of both people from India and abroad, the Bala Bhawan was started. The stone was laid for a two storied building. But the work of just the first floor was completed in the beginning before the Bala Bhawan started its function.
The Bala bhawan accommodates about 40 boys who are studying in the school up to +2 level. The first floor of the Bala Bhawan building and a dining hall have been completed. In addition to excellence in study, the children continue to take active part in extra curricular fields, like sports and games.
The boys and also the adult people in the Abhaya Bhawan take part every year in the competitions conducted under the despises of the Orphanage Control Board. They compete in art competition and sport items in District as well as State level. Often they win prizes too.
The administrative council consists of the Diocesan President Geevarghese Mar Ivanios Thirumeni as the president and P.C. Yohannan Ramban as the manager. They look after the functions of Bala Bhawan.
MGM Bala Bhawan thus works with the good intention of taking in the young orphans and bringing them up to be good citizens useful for the society. It is indeed establishing itself as a symbol of love and good-deed.
Very Rev.P.C. Yohannan Ramban who is the manager of Abhaya Bhawan as well as of Bala Bhawan, also serves as President of the All Kerala Orphanage Association. He is state President and also Kottayam District Secretary. He also serves as the member of Orphanage Control Board. This can be considered as a recognition of his meritorious service as manager of Abhaya Bhawan from 1965 and manager of Bala Bhawan from 1985.
